Home remedies from daily ingredients
Ancient Ayurveda was evolved in India, it brings harmony between man and nature by using a holistic method of diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. There are some home remedies for treating simple problems like cough and cold, indigestion using the simple ingredients available in the kitchen like:-
Ginger root
10 ml decoction prepared from ginger can be used to treat recurrent occurrence of cold. Similarly, dry ginger powder is known to treat cough if taken with jaggery.
Indian Gooseberry
Consumption of gooseberry juice along with the juice from the fresh rhizome of turmeric is often used for treating diabetes. Similarly, consumption of one fruit per day morning often prevents early greying and hair fall.
Lemongrass:
It often used in decoction made along with ginger root for treating cold. Similarly, if its steam is taken, it often opens the nose congestion.
Turmeric:
A pinch of turmeric powder with warm milk and sugar is often used in treating age-old cough. If the paste of turmeric is applied to the wound it helps to heal quickly.
Cardamom:
Chewing and sucking the juice from one-two seeds from cardamom is often known to reduce the vomiting feeling.
Fennel seeds:
Consumption of fennel seeds keeps a check on the blood pressure, reduces water retention, purifies the blood, improves eyesight.
One can definitely try home remedies before going to the drug store. I have been using these home remedies for treating frequent cold and cough for my kids and it really helped me.
