Dear Jessie,

I am writing this letter to express my interest in healthy eating habits. Modern people today are facing a lot of health issues like heart diseases, type 2 diabetes and obesity due to excessive consumption of fast foods. The only way to control these issues is to maintain a healthy diet by eating healthy foods.

Study shows that healthy foods like fresh fruits and vegetables are loaded with nutrients in their natural form and it even states that everyone should eat 5 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruits every day. Raw salads are rich in fiber. A natural form is always better than a substitute. Fruits have a natural source of glucose, while almonds help to maintain a healthy cholesterol level.

If your regular diet consists of greens, fruits, and berries there would be no need to take extra medications, for example, many vegetables have anti-cancer properties, while apples are natural source of antioxidants which control free radicals which in turn are responsible for damaging the aging process and causing certain diseases. Furthermore, they are free from fat, saturated fat, trans fat, sodium, and high calories. A well-balanced diet will not only give you the nutrients you need for growth and repair, but also keep you active throughout the day and maintain your weight.

Day by day new fast foods is introduced at a very cheap rate to attract huge populations, thereby reducing the importance of healthy food. But eating only fast foods will make you feel full and dull without nutrients. Being a mother of two kids, I am really worried about this young generation who is falling in the trap of the fast-food industries as they do not realize that it is just a silent killer.

With so many harmful effects of fast foods over the human body, I hope the editor will help to spread the awareness of healthy foods in the world. Maybe an article or a healthy recipe will definitely develop health awareness that would be highly appreciated.

Sincerely yours,

Savita Mehetre
